WP3 – Misinformation Analysis and Applied Fact-Checking Studies

WP3 is the evidence‑building phase that applies AI‑supported fact‑checking to real misinformation cases in six countries and turns the results into practical guides and frameworks for educators, students, media and youth sectors. It produces an International Misinformation Analysis and Fact‑checking Framework and a case‑study‑based implementation guide, which directly inform the design of the project’s digital curriculum and credentials in WP4.

WP3 Activities

  • Collect and document at least twelve real-world misinformation cases (minimum two per country) covering different themes and media formats. Each case will be analysed using AI-supported verification tools and documented through a standardized methodology, creating a comprehensive repository of practical case studies and verified analysis procedures.

  • Analyse findings from all case studies to identify common misinformation patterns, evaluate the effectiveness of AI-assisted verification tools, and compare cross-country trends. Based on the results, develop an international framework that provides structured guidance for misinformation detection, verification, and evaluation applicable across different educational and media environments.

  • Convert the analysed case studies into practical, step-by-step implementation guidelines that demonstrate how misinformation can be detected and verified using both traditional and AI-supported methods. The guide will include reproducible workflows, recommended tools, best practices, and educational examples suitable for teachers, journalists, students, and media organizations.

  • Organize the collection of feedback from project participants, educators, researchers, and external experts regarding the developed methodology, framework, and implementation guide. Analyse the feedback to assess usability, effectiveness, and educational value, and produce recommendations that will refine the outputs and support the design of the project's curriculum and future training activities.
